Former Netherlands national team striker Bas Dost has decided to retire from professional football. Sport24.az reports that the 36-year-old footballer announced this in an interview with the "Algemeen Dagblad" newspaper.
According to Dost, he does not want to risk his life due to health problems and has therefore made this decision.
It should be noted that during his career, Dost played for "NEC Utrecht", "Brugge", Frankfurt "Eintracht", "Sporting", "Wolfsburg", "Heerenveen", "Heracles" and "Emmen". With "Brugge" he won the Belgian Championship and the Belgian Super Cup, with "Sporting" the Portuguese Cup and two Portuguese League Cups, and with "Wolfsburg" the German Cup and the German Super Cup.
