"We couldn't start the first half well. We almost gifted all the goals scored to the opponent ourselves. We will try to perform better in the next matches." These words were said by Sumgayit football player Sedric Badalo in his statement to Sport24.az after the match they lost to Sabah in the 25th round of the Misli Premier League.
The 27-year-old midfielder also clarified the tension between him and captain Sabuhi Abdullazade in the first half:
"There was no special reason for the episode between me and the captain. Such situations can happen in such high-tempo games. We just couldn't organize our positions properly and we were discussing it. There were no serious problems."
The Burkina Faso football player also touched upon the current situation of the team:
"To be frank, it would not be correct to say that everything is fine when the team loses and cannot score points. Our results have not been encouraging since I came to Sumgayit, and this upsets me. However, I am happy to be in Azerbaijan and we have absolutely no intention of giving up."
It should be noted that the Sabah - Sumgayit match ended with a 3:1 victory for the home team.
