The fans who came to the Bangladesh-Azerbaijan match in the "FIFA Tri Nations Women's Football Series 2025" tournament held in Dhaka did not regret it. Sport24.az reports that Siyasat Asgarov, the head coach of the Azerbaijan national team, made a statement to the official website of AFFA about this.
He shared his thoughts on the match, which they won 2:1 against the local team, and the tournament:
"I would like to thank the Bangladeshi side for organizing such a tournament. The people here also welcomed us beautifully. As for the game, our opponent was quite strong. In my opinion, they should have defeated Malaysia in the first match. One mistake was decisive in that meeting. The Bangladesh national team was also well prepared for the match with us and wanted to win. In the first 15 minutes, they put pressure all over the field and gave us difficult moments. It is a team distinguished by its unique counter-attack football. They showed it in the game as well. Although we opened the scoring, we conceded a goal shortly after. Because the opponent was doing everything to stand out. They performed better in the second half. However, our defenders put on a successful performance and prevented the opponent's attacks. We changed the game plan and made substitutions. We also benefited from this. I think that both teams showed an interesting game and the fans who came to the stadium did not regret it. It was a holiday for women's football. Both the Bangladesh Football Federation and AFFA gained something from this holiday".
It should be noted that our national team, which won over the Malaysian (2:0) and Bangladesh (2:1) teams, became the winner of the "FIFA Tri Nations Women's Football Series 2025" tournament.
