Azerbaijan and Ukraine national teams, which will face each other in Baku in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup, have met twice before. According to Sport24.az, both matches of the national teams were friendly matches.
The first meeting took place in February 2006. At that time, the game in Baku ended in a goalless draw. In August, the teams met again in a friendly match in Kyiv. This time, the home side won with six unanswered goals.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan-Ukraine match will take place on September 9 at 20:00 at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium. Our national team lost to Iceland 0:5 in the first round, and the guests lost to France 0:2.
