An interview with Azer Salahli, a football player from "Imishli", to Futbolinfo.az
– You won 3 points by defeating "Sabah" 1:0 away. What can you say about the match?
– We really had a hard time in the first half. The opponent is a good team, they participated in European cups. We were playing away, which created additional difficulties. We had to work hard in defense. Thank God, we made the most of the opportunities and won.
– Will the national break be useful for you?
– We shouldn't be satisfied with this victory. Because we have to work hard, we are a debutant team. We must continue our training and prepare for the next games. This break will be useful for us, we will prepare better.
– As an experienced football player, you have worked with several foreign experts throughout your career. How is it to work with Portuguese head coach Jorge Cascilla, what have you learned?
– Of course, every specialist has their own approach. He is a very different coach, he has a different playing style. As you can see, we play compactly, we are prone to defense. This is possible with the players in our squad. We play in a compact defense and wait for our chance in counterattacks. Everyone in the team benefits each other, everyone supports each other in their field. Only good things can be said about the head coach.
– There is a strange pressure on "Imishli" from the football community – you probably feel it. What can you say about this?
– Of course, as we earn points, the attitude of our opponents towards us changes, the pressure increases. We earn respect for ourselves with our game. Before the championship started, maybe some teams looked down on us. But in every game we show that we earn respect with our strength. I think it will get better from game to game.
– What would you like to say to the fans?
– I also thank our fans. My request to them is to always support us. God willing, we will fight for victory in every game.
