"It doesn't matter so much which opponent we face".
This was stated by the head coach of "Kapaz" Azer Baghirov in an interview with futbolinfo.az.
We present the interview.
- In the last 4 rounds before the national break, your team was undefeated and won a total of 8 points. What allowed you to achieve consecutive successful results?
- It seems to me that one of the main factors was that the players largely understood the current situation and how to get out of it. Thanks to this, we achieved consecutive successful results.
- Will the national break have a negative impact on your plans at a time when Kapaz's performance is on the rise?
- I almost don't think about it. Because one of the main issues is to load the players in this preparation process, and if they are overloaded, to restore their physical condition. We are doing intensive work in this direction. During the break, we had the opportunity to work more on our missing tactical and technical aspects.
- In the first game after the break, you will face Gabala, one of your main rivals. Can this match be called a "6-point match" for both sides? What are your expectations from the game?
- It doesn't matter so much which opponent we face. The important thing is to prepare for each game simply as a championship match. We are trying to instill this in the players. I think that after we can do this, the arrival of results is already a matter of time.
- How much chance does Kapaz have to move up the tournament table from its current position in the last 8 rounds?
- I would also like the team to move up to higher positions. Of course, the players are well aware of this. Let me assure you that during the break, each member of the team prepared very seriously in the training process.
- The end of the season is near. Are you planning to make major changes in the squad in the summer, or will the core of the current squad be preserved?
- We are not thinking about any changes. At the moment, we are only working on the players strengthening in the main squad, increasing sprints on the field, fighting to the end and other issues, we are instilling such things in them. That is, we are not talking about whether any football player will leave or stay.
- Can we see a more ambitious Kapaz with Azer Baghirov as head coach next season?
- Time will tell. For now, our focus is on the current season.
