"Even before yesterday's game, the feeling was that "Qarabag" is superior to "Shkendija" and will overcome the opponent based on the results of the two games." These words were said by Arif Asadov in his statement to Spor24.az.
The experienced specialist shared his thoughts on the first match of the third qualifying round of the Champions League, in which the Azerbaijani champion defeated "Shkendija" in North Macedonia (1:0):
"The first match showed that the Aghdam representative is superior to the opponent in all respects. In the first half, our representative showed a good game. The opponent is a disciplined team. Player quality, especially in the attacking phase, is lacking. It is felt that they are afraid of "Qarabag". In the second half, they could not attack with great force. "Qarabag" has already solved 70 percent of the ticket to the next stage. Next week, at home, it is necessary to take the opponent seriously from the first minutes and decide the fate of the game in the first half. I think "Qarabag" has secured a ticket to the next stage."
It should be noted that the return match between the teams will be held on August 12 in Baku.
