"After the away victory, no one doubted that "Sabah" would also overcome their opponent at home." These words were said by Arif Asadov, the former coach of the Azerbaijani national team, in his statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced specialist shared his thoughts on the match in which the Azerbaijani representative defeated the Moldovan club "Petrocub" with a score of 4:1 (first game 2:0) in the return match of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League:
"It was important to take the second meeting seriously and not to relax. The team also approached it seriously and was motivated. The same squad is played in the last matches. It was also felt that they were well prepared for the match. The course of the game also showed that "Sabah" was superior. The level of skill is obvious. The opponent wanted to do something. But the level of skill to put the final point was not enough. "Sabah"'s attacking potential has increased a lot. This is felt after the arrival of the new head coach. They are more active in attack and show creative football. The team has a balance."
Asadov said that the Azerbaijani representative can perform well in the next round as well: "A lot depends on the opponent. "Sabah" shows more quality football from game to game. In this regard, they have a chance to advance to the main stage of the Conference League. Of course, they should be more careful in the game plan and in counter-attacks when going forward."
It should be noted that "Sabah" will face the Bulgarian club "Levski" (Sofia) in the third qualifying round.
