"After the away victory, it was clear that "Qarabağ" would beat "Shkendija" in Baku. It was even expected that there would be a big win, and so it happened." Arif Asadov said this in a statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced specialist reacted to "Qarabağ" defeating "Shkendija" 5:1 in the return match of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League and qualifying for the play-off round:
"Although the Aghdam representative conceded the first goal, the team increased its speed and attacks, and the goals came in succession. "Qarabağ" had already clarified all the questions in the first half. The team improves its game over time and increases its quality. The newly arrived players are starting to get used to the team. In this regard, "Qarabağ" has a good chance to represent our country in the League stage of the Champions League. I hope that everything will go as "Qarabağ" wants."
It should be noted that Gurban Gurbanov's team will play its first match against "Ferencváros" on August 19 away. The return match will take place on August 27 at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium.
