Donetsk "Shakhtar", coached by Turkish expert Arda Turan, has won its next victory in the League stage of the UEFA Conference League. Sport24.az reports that the Ukrainian club defeated Ireland's "Shamrock Rovers" 2:1 away in the 4th round.
After this result, "Shakhtar", which increased its points to 9, rose to 4th place. Now they are only 1 point away from the leader "Samsunspor" (Turkey).
Donetsk team's head coach Arda Turan commented on the away victory at the press conference held after the game. He stated that he also gave young football players a chance in this meeting, and this is very important: "It was not easy to play here, but we started the match very well. We had plans to fight against the opponent's defense, and in most cases we were able to implement them. We scored quickly. After scoring, we were able to take control of the game. Today we tried to use all our attacking players. We have four or five football players who are 17 or 18 years old, and this victory is especially meaningful with them. More than the score, I am satisfied with the level of play we are showing now. Therefore, I congratulate my players."
It should be noted that "Shakhtar" will play its next game in the Conference League against Malta's "Hamrun" club on December 12.
