The goal of the Azerbaijan U-17 national football team is to win the match against Malta in the second round of the European Championship qualifying stage.
"Report" reports that this was stated by U-17 head coach Aqil Nabiyev in an interview with the AFFA press service.
He first evaluated the matches against Bulgaria (1:1) and Lithuania (0:0):
"We were the dominant side in the first game against Bulgaria. The opponent's biggest "weapon" was standard situations. They scored the goal in this way. Nevertheless, we managed to score the equalizer. Although we had good scoring opportunities to win, we could not capitalize on them. Our main problem is in the final passes and shots. We experienced this problem in the second match against Lithuania as well. We completely dictated the match from start to finish, we possessed the ball more. The referee also did not award our two hundred percent penalties. We had countless scoring opportunities. The players must work hard to eliminate this deficiency. We play matches after only 3-4 days of preparation in the national team, we don't have time to work on these things."
Aqil Nabiyev also spoke about the match against the Malta national team on March 30 as part of the last round of the group: "The main thing is that the team has the determination to win, the players go out to win every match. I believe that we will be able to realize this in the match against Malta. Our goal is to win absolutely in the match against Malta. There is some fatigue in the players. In any case, we must play well in the last match of the group and achieve the result we want."
It should be noted that our U-17 national team, which is in the 2nd group of League B, is in third place with 2 points.
