Former Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has said that Mikel Arteta was leading the team's pre-match tactics even when he was a player. Sport24.az reports that the 32-year-old footballer spoke about this on the "In The Mixer" show.
Oxlade-Chamberlain said that Arteta taught the players to analyze opponents before big games:
"Before Manchester City and other big games, Mikel was the main voice for us. We needed to know what the opponent was doing in corner kicks. He instilled this in us when he was still a player."
Oxlade-Chamberlain added that Arteta paid more attention to tactical details than usual, and this distinguished him.
