According to the decision of the AFFA Executive Committee on February 3, a financial incentive mechanism is being implemented for the appearance of local players in the squads of clubs playing in the Misli Premier League in the 2025/2026 season.
Idman.biz reports that, according to the decision, the bonus fund will be formed from the fees to be paid for foreign players included in the application form of the clubs participating in the Misli Premier League.
According to the new rule, a certain part of the funds to be allocated from legionnaire fees (minimum 1,000,000 AZN) will be distributed among the clubs playing in the Misli Premier League. Also, the club that scores the most points (taking into account coefficients) of local players during the season will receive an additional reward (50,000 AZN from the total amount).
The total number of minutes played by local players who appeared in the squad of each club will be calculated according to the percentage share of the total number of minutes of local players of all clubs in the Misli Premier League.
For games to be held within the Misli Premier League, a general local football player will be rated with a coefficient of 1.0, a local football player aged 21 and younger with a coefficient of 1.5, and a club trainee (a football player who has played in the same club's lower age groups or reserve team for a minimum of 3 consecutive seasons until being promoted to the main team) with a coefficient of 2.0.
The calculation will only cover the main 90 minutes of game time. Only 1 minute will be recorded for players entering the field in added time. If a football player falls into several categories at the same time, his playing minutes will be calculated with the highest coefficient.
