Interview with Adil Shukurov, head coach of "Kapaz", to futbolinfo.az
– How did your return to "Kapaz" happen? Considering that you left that post at the beginning of last season, did you hesitate at all when saying "yes" to the offer?
– "Kapaz" is a club of great value to me, and this club is a great football school for many coaches. For the coaches who have worked at this club, what they have learned is the beginning of their path to advancement in their future careers. My departure from "Kapaz" was a step calculated to keep the club in the Premier League. I had stated this at a meeting with the club management and fans at that time.
– In recent years, "Kapaz"'s goal has been to maintain its place in the Premier League. It is expected that the club's ambition will increase in the next season. What specific goal has the management set for you regarding the next season?
– The goal for the new "Kapaz" is the path of development. Development means forming a competitive team and, if possible, settling in high places in the championship.
– From next season, there will be no legionnaire limit in the championship. Will this decision affect your plans? That is, will foreigners form the basis of "Kapaz"'s squad in the new season?
– After the limit is lifted, the strength in all teams will mainly fall on legionnaire players. In this situation, we are trying to form a competitive team consisting of local and legionnaire football players. Of course, the club's capabilities must also be taken into account here, and work will be built accordingly.
– What positions are you worried about? Which positions are you planning to strengthen?
– As I mentioned, after the limit is lifted, the strength in most of our clubs will fall more on legionnaire football players. In this regard, we are working in "Kapaz" to bring the team to the level we have planned.
– Is "Kapaz"'s preparation plan for the new season known? Will the team hold training camps abroad?
– God willing, we plan to start preparation at the end of June. I can provide information about this after the preparation plan is fully determined.
