Today, Adil Shukurov officially left "Kapaz". He had already largely stated that he would leave after the 0:3 score against "Gabala". On the first working day of the week, the experienced specialist parted ways with the representative of "Nizami Yurdu" on a mutual agreement basis.
In an interview with Sport24.az, Shukurov touched upon the 5 consecutive defeats they suffered since the start of the championship, investigated the reasons for the failure, and spoke about the incident that occurred with the fans in the last round.
- You have officially closed the "Kapaz" page. Although your resignation was quite expected, we would like to hear about the reasons from your own mouth...
- I would like to thank the "Kapaz" management for trusting me. In the last 5 rounds, we could not show the game we wanted. There are several reasons for this. We were noticeably late in the formation of the team. I had talked about this on your website once. None of the players who were offered to me and who I liked came. We had to start from a mandatory "white paper" at the start of the championship, and this is the first and most important reason for the failure. Another factor is related to the psychological situation. The claim in Ganja is far above reality, and this constantly keeps the players under additional pressure. Finally, the 3rd factor is the field factor. You will probably agree that playing in front of thousands of fans gives the players extra motivation.
- The break due to the national team's games did not help you either...
- I agree. We had great hopes for this break. True, we made progress in certain components, but we are at a stage where if "0" is written in the win and draw columns, you have to make a radical decision.
- In one of the press conferences, you said, "What we do in training is not done in the game." So, the players were deliberately not playing?
- I wouldn't say that. Training and the game are different. You have to apply the same ideas for months in training so that you can do it in the game. We lost in time. We could have seen a different "Kapaz" after the winter break. But no one, neither the management, nor the coaching staff, nor the fans could wait that long.
- Speaking of fans, what would you say about what happened between you and the fans in the last round?
- Nothing serious happened between me and the fans. It only happened with one person...
- Let it be one person. I guess you mean the fan who said, "Get out, go home"...
- Yes. This word can be said by the closest friend who has the right to say it to a person. It turns out that he thought he was close to me and said it. I showed the same closeness and said, make room in your house, I'll come and stay.
- And finally. Did you make the resignation decision or the management?
- Together. We discussed it and settled on the best option for "Kapaz". I was very upset that I didn't meet the expectations, and I hope that "Kapaz" will reach the place it deserves in the future. "Kapaz" is my home team. Even 26 years ago, when I wore the uniform of this club, although severe poisoning resulted in me not being myself for 1 week, I came back to the game after 1 month. As they say, I have had good days and difficult times with "Kapaz". Regardless of anything, "Kapaz" has been and will always be home to me.
