"If we are thinking about the Premier League, there must be healthy competition in all positions in the team. Those players who show their advantages will also get more chances on the field".
These words were said by Adil Shukurov, the head coach of "Sabail".
The specialist also clarified the allegations about Rahman Hajiyev's departure from the team. According to him, Rahman Hajiyev's departure is not on the agenda.
"There is no possibility of R. Hajiyev leaving the team. Our team was formed around his experience. We are starting training from tomorrow and there can be no talk of any departure," he said in his statement to futbolinfo.az.
A. Shukurov emphasized that a specific Premier League target has been set:
"A clear task has been set for us and we are trying to take the necessary steps in this direction. Of course, financial support is also important for this. We have held discussions with the club management and solved certain issues within our financial capabilities".
The head coach also touched upon the differences between the First League and the Premier League:
"The football played in the First League differs significantly from the elite. This league has its own characteristics. Most of the players we are considering to involve in the team have played in this league. Therefore, it may take some time for them to adapt to our system. In order to avoid such problems, we try to solve issues in a short time".
Finally, A. Shukurov said that no major changes are expected in the squad:
"We have players with Premier League experience in our team and we intend to make the most of their experience. We do not want to make radical changes in the winter break, because it takes time. But we don't have enough time. But this does not mean that we spent the break in vain. We want to strengthen the team in several positions. Negotiations are currently underway with some players. We will announce the names after the issues are clarified".
