Due to the difficult situation the "Dorking Wanderers" football club has found itself in, they have signed a 54-year-old fan, Terry Dann, to stand in goal for the National League South Division match against "AFC Totton."
According to Idman.biz, Mark White's team lost their goalkeeper Harrison Foulkes due to a spleen injury and do not have a replacement for the upcoming game.
Dann played for local teams in his youth, including the now-defunct "North Holmwood," but has not played on a professional field in the last 28 years. "Standing in goal is like riding a bicycle, you never forget it. As a loyal "Dorking" fan, I am ready to do everything I can to prevent the team from conceding a goal," he said.
Head coach Mark White noted that Dann may not be agile, but his dedication and courage will help in a critical moment.
