Bilalhəbaşi Nəzərov has entered the boxing history of Azerbaijan.
İdman.Biz reports with reference to the press service of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation that the 18-year-old athlete of the national team achieved this success at the U-19 European Championship held in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
He became the first Azerbaijani boxer to win the title of European champion twice among youth. Nazarov, who won the title of the strongest on the continent a year ago in Porec, Croatia, did not recognize a rival in Ostrava and climbed to the highest step of the podium for the second time in a row. The graduate of the Astara boxing school won both gold medals under the leadership of the national team's head coach Elbrus Rzayev.
The European Championship in the Czech Republic was also remarkable for our female boxers. For the first time in the country's history, our team won a medal, and two at once. Banuchichek Nasirli (48 kg) won a silver medal and Ilkana Ahmadova (+80 kg) won a bronze medal in the national team coached by Ilkin Agayev.
At the U-19 European Championship, the Azerbaijani national team broke the 16-year spell by winning five medals. This happened after 13 continental championships.
It should be noted that the other medals of our team were won by Zidan Humbatov (55 kg) and Subhan Babayev (60 kg). They took third place in the European Championship.
