Tahir Bakshiyev: NTD will be ambitious again

NTD will be one of the ambitious clubs in the Azerbaijan Basketball League in the 2025/2026 season.

This was stated to "Report" by the team's head coach Tahir Bakshiyev.

The specialist said that his goals have not changed:

"We have already started training with Azerbaijani players. Transfers of basketball players from the USA are expected in the near future. First of all, they have to undergo a medical examination. If everything goes well, we will start training with the full team this weekend."

Bakshiyev emphasized that NTD has always been one of the ambitious teams:

"It will be the same this time. NTD is a team of many years. Our goal has always remained the same. But we understand that this time "Sabah", "Neftchi" and "Absheron" have good players and their budgets are also very large. Nevertheless, we will also be ambitious. If you don't want to be a champion, why are you playing? We will do our best, we will work hard. We won the Azerbaijan Cup last season. We intend to win the title this time as well."

The specialist, who is also the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team, added that he continues his work in the national team:

"After the current European Championship is over, the draw for the qualifying round of the 2029 competition will be held. At that time, we will know our opponents. After that, we can talk about the goals of the national team."
