The "Sumgayit" team lost because they played without substitutions in the match against "Nakhchivan." Sport24.az reports that this was stated by the head coach of "Sumgayit," Vadim Kuramshin, in a statement to the club's press service after the match against "Nakhchivan" in the VII round of the Azerbaijan Basketball League.
He stated that they were upset about the defeat:
"I congratulate 'Nakhchivan' on the victory. At the beginning of the game, we allowed the opponent to score more points. Later we were able to catch up with them in the score. The same thing happened again in the 3rd period, 'Nakhchivan' again increased the difference with 'three-pointers'. I don't switch to individual defense because of the foul limit problem; in any case, I can't do it with only 3 Americans. If one is eliminated, our job will be difficult. The fact that the basketball players played without substitutions affected the result."
It should be noted that the match "Sumgayit" - "Nakhchivan" ended with the victory of the latter with a score of 116:99.
