"The Azerbaijan Cup is not a high priority for us. We are thinking more about the championship. However, we will participate in cup matches and fight to the end." This was stated to the club's press service by Bedri Meriç, the head coach of "Shaki", Sport24.az reports.
The Turkish expert answered the question "Do you want to face "Lankaran" or NTD in the 1/4 finals of the Azerbaijan Cup?" as follows: "We know "Lankaran" from the championship. NTD has very valuable coaches and basketball players playing in the national team. Although they are outsiders in group A, they are very strong in terms of local players. It would not be right for me to want which team to come. No matter who our opponent is, we will do our best to win. In the semi-finals, the opponent will most likely be "Sabah". The mandatory use of 2 local players in the cup will make our Azerbaijani basketball players more motivated for the cup matches."
It should be noted that the 1/4 final matches will be held on March 12-13. All games will be held in Baku.
