Shaki's biggest drawback in the match against Abşeron Lions in the XVI round of the Azerbaijan Basketball League was their inability to get rebounds.
"Report" reports that the head coach Bedri Meriç said this in a statement to the club's press service.
The expert stated that he was satisfied with his team's game, despite the defeat:
"I congratulate our opponent on the victory. I think we played good basketball today, it was a high-level and interesting match for the spectators. Our biggest drawback was our inability to get rebounds. Our opponent scored 28 points from such chances, which is a very big number."
The experienced expert also touched on the decisive moments of the game:
"Although we were 10 points behind in the third period, we later equalized the score, and even took the lead with two minutes left. But in the last seconds, we missed simple shots and gave the opponent a chance. If it weren't for these, we could have won. But I am satisfied with my players for the fight they showed against one of the leaders of Group A. We will continue to fight."
It should be noted that the game held at the Shaki Olympic Sports Complex ended with the victory of Abşeron Lions with a score of 92:85.
