Before the game, the insulting and hateful banner unfurled by Greek fans in the stands caused serious discontent. The banner contained excessive expressions against the "Beşiktaş" club, its fans, as well as the Turkish police organization.
The incident quickly resonated on social networks, and thousands of users strongly condemned the provocation. Fans stated that it is unacceptable to turn sports competitions into a tool of political and national hatred.
In the match, "Beşiktaş GAIN", showing superior performance on the field, defeated its opponent with a score of 114:74, gaining a 40-point difference.
After the match, the "Beşiktaş" club issued an official statement condemning the banner unfurled in the stands in the strongest terms. The statement emphasized that this is not only an open act of hatred against the club, but also against the national and spiritual values of the Turkish people. The club management announced that legal and administrative steps would be taken with the European League management regarding the issue.
