Despite securing first place in Group A of the Azerbaijan Basketball League ahead of time, "Sabah" seriously prepared for the last – XX round match against "Absheron Lions."
"Report" reports that this was stated by the head coach of the "owls," Rimas Kurtinaytis, in his statement to the club's press service after the game.
He evaluated the victorious match:
"Although we secured first place in the group earlier, we were maximally focused on the game. Because I know from both my player and coaching experience that games before this round are also important to prepare well for the playoffs. Therefore, we wanted the players to approach this meeting as seriously as possible. Although the opponent's main playmaker, Frazier, was not in the game, "Absheron Lions" fought well."
It should be noted that the "Sabah" - "Absheron Lions" match ended with a 105:72 victory for the former.
