Quba basketball player Levan Gogaladze gave an interview to the club's press service.
Idman.biz reports that the Georgian legionnaire evaluated the season they finished in the play-in stage.
The season ended for Quba in the play-in stage. The team stopped participating after losing to Ordu. Why do you think the team lost?
It was a good and short series. Unfortunately, I couldn't help the team. Moreover, Zaur Pashayev could not appear in the first game. I think if I had been on the field in that series, we would have played in the play-offs.
- You did not participate in the matches against Ordu because you were injured. You were injured in training before the first game and had stitches on your head. How are you now?
- Yes, as I mentioned, I could not help the team. I had an accident in training before the game. I injured my head and had stitches. I feel good now.
- You have been living a legionnaire life in our country for three years now. Do you see development in Azerbaijani basketball?
- Basketball is developing in Azerbaijan. I think more children should be brought to the games. Also, more organized general managers and some steps like this will benefit the league.
- How would you compare Georgian and Azerbaijani basketball?
- I think the level of foreign players is almost the same. Because many players who played in Azerbaijan have played in Georgia before. The difference between the clubs of these two countries is in the discipline in the teams and the local players.
- Why do you think Quba performed unsuccessfully in the regular season as well? Although you were not in the last place in group B, you were only one step above...
- We focused our attention on the end of the season. Honestly, the difference between us and the team ahead was not very big. In the play-in matches, we showed that even if we were not in full squad, we could fight well against any team and achieve a good series.
- Will you start the new season in Quba, in the Azerbaijan Basketball League?
- We haven't discussed this yet. Time will tell how it will be. I respect our head coach Shahriyar Asgarov and our captain Zaur Pashayev. I always wish them the best.
- Which team do you think will be the champion in ABL?
- I think "Sabah" is again the favorite to win again. Head coach Rimas Kurtinaitis has built a very good team.
