On May 24-25, Azerbaijan will host the qualifying round matches of the 3x3 Basketball World Cup (2025) for the first time.
İdman.biz reports that both men's and women's national teams will compete in Baku for a chance to qualify for the main stage.
Our men's national team will compete against the Canadian and Great Britain teams in Group B, while our women's national team will compete against the Latvian and Egyptian teams in Group B.
In the men's competition, Montenegro, Rwanda, and Iran will try to advance from Group A, while in the women's competition, Chile, Chinese Taipei, and Brazil will try to advance from Group A. Our men's national team will play its first match in the group on May 24 at 19:05 against Canada, and our women's national team will play against Egypt at 18:15.
It should be noted that according to the regulations, the teams that finish in the first two places in the qualifying round groups in the men's and women's categories, which will be held at the "Sea Breeze" recreation center, will qualify for the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-final pairs and the winner of the match between the losing teams in the semi-final pairs will gain the right to participate in the main stage of the World Cup. The World Cup matches will be held on June 23-29 in Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia.
