"Neftchi," who lost in the first game of the FIBA Europe Cup main stage, must work on their mistakes." Sport24.az reports that Vitali Stepanovski, the head coach of the "white-blacks," said in a statement on the club's official website.
The expert shared his thoughts on the match in Poland where they lost to "Trefl" (63:92):
"It was a historic game for our club. Because it was the first time we played in the European Cup. Unfortunately, we lost. The beginning and end of the game didn't go the way we wanted, it didn't go so well for us. From the beginning of the match, we gave the opponent a 12-point advantage. After that, we tried to reduce the point difference throughout the game. I can say that we played well for 30 minutes. But as I mentioned, the beginning and the end didn't go well for us."
Stepanovski emphasized that they need to look forward:
"We need to analyze and work on the mistakes so that we don't repeat them in the next games."
