Tahir Bakshiyev, head coach of the Azerbaijan men's national basketball team, has announced the extended roster for the EuroBasket 2029 preliminary qualifying round matches against Ireland and North Macedonia. According to Sport24.az, the roster includes 4 players from Sabah, 2 each from Neftchi, Ganja, Shaki, and Absheron Lions, and 1 player each from Ordu, NTD, and the Spanish club Tenerife.
Amil Hamzayev, Akbar Mammadov (both from Neftchi), Emmanuel Agbason, Endar Poladkhanli, Shirzad Shirzadov, Kamran Mammadov (all from Sabah), Ulaş Turgut, Jabrayil Akbarov (both from Ganja), Elshad Shirzadov (Ordu), Vesli Van Beck (Tenerife), Derin Berkoz (NTD), Rashid Abbasov, Ercan Donat (both from Shaki), Ismail Abdullayev and Saadettin Donat (both from Absheron Lions) have been invited to the national team.
Although Akbar Mammadov and Ismail Abdullayev were included in the extended roster, they were unable to continue training camp due to injuries.
