The National Basketball Association (NBA) has confirmed the sale of the legendary "Los Angeles Lakers" team.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, functionary Mark Walter has bought the legendary club for a record 10 billion euros in sports history.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver commented on the change of ownership and approved the deal:
"Mark Walter has many years of experience working with our leagues. He has been a minority owner of the "Lakers" and the majority owner of the "Sparks" for more than a decade. I am confident that after taking control of the club, he will prove himself as a loyal leader and a valuable member of our community thanks to his experience in sports and business."
"I would also like to express my gratitude to Jeanie Buss and her family for more than forty years of leadership that shaped the Lakers' legacy. I am pleased that while Walter is now taking control, Jeanie will remain at the helm and continue to play an important role in the NBA's development."
