LeBron James, the three-time Olympic champion of the US national team and basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers, plans to end his professional career soon.
Idman.biz reports that he announced this in an interview with the Complex portal.
The 40-year-old basketball player spoke about his 23-year career: "I don't think about playing even 10 more years from now. But the end of my career is approaching, it will happen. It's just not time yet."
It should be noted that James is a 4-time NBA champion, has repeatedly been named the best player of the regular season and the most valuable basketball player of the playoff final series. He is the highest-scoring player in NBA history and shares first place with Vince Carter in the list of players with the most appearances in the league for 22 seasons. James played for Cleveland (2003–2010; 2014–2018) and Miami (2010–2014). He has been playing for the Los Angeles Lakers since 2018.
