Hidayet Türkoğlu, President of the Turkish Basketball Federation and former forward of the Turkish national team, will be inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2026.
İdman.Biz reports that the federation's press service has released information about this.
The ceremony will take place on April 21 in Berlin. Türkoğlu will be joined by Sue Bird, Celine Dumerc, Clarisse Machanguana, Ludwig Menta-Mikolajewicz, Dirk Nowitzki, Yao Ming and Ismenia Pires (posthumously). Türkoğlu becomes the first Turkish basketball player to be inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame.
Türkoğlu played for the Turkish national team for nearly two decades and had a successful NBA career. He was named the league's Most Improved Player in 2008 and helped Orlando reach the NBA Finals in 2009. With the Turkish national team, he won silver medals at the 2001 European Championship and the 2010 World Championship.
