The defeat of the Azerbaijani women's basketball team to Bulgaria in the qualifying round of the 2027 European Championship is the beginning of future victories.
"Report" reports that Farrukh Mahmudov, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation (ABF), stated this on his social media account.
The ABF official emphasized that they are proud of the players:
"Sport is not just about victories. Sometimes the most important lessons come after difficult games. We are proud of our players. Defeat is not the end, but the beginning of future victories."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team lost to its opponent with a score of 40:120. The team mainly consists of young and adolescent basketball players.
