The "Absheron Lions" team tried to prove to the Polish representative "Trefl" that they are not a weak opponent.
According to "Report", this was stated by Erhan Toker, head coach of the "Absheron Lions" basketball club, at a press conference.
The experienced specialist shared his thoughts on the FIBA Europe Cup main stage game in Baku, where they lost to "Trefl":
"We prepared well for the game. Although we didn't start the match the way we wanted, we later improved our game. We made simple mistakes in defense. We were playing against a very strong team. We tried to show them that we are not a weak opponent. I think we succeeded in this to some extent. During the match, they scored 2-3 lucky three-pointers. On the other hand, simple mistakes prevented us from winning. The opponent's squad has national team players."
It should be noted that the "Absheron Lions" - "Trefl" match ended with a 99:96 victory for the Poles.
