Erhan Toker, head coach of "Absheron Lions", commented on his team's 60:77 defeat in the return match against Cyprus' "Anorthosis" club in the Eurocup qualifying stage.
According to Idman.biz, despite the result, the Baku club qualified for the main stage of the tournament thanks to the "lucky loser" rule.
"We had a very weak game today. It was a difficult week: we were 30 points ahead in the first game, but we allowed the difference to drop to 16 points. At that time, I said that I hoped this would not hinder us in the return game, but it turned out that I was wrong. We were also hindered by personnel problems: Gediminas Orelik's injury and James Frazier's psychological struggle. The severity of his father's condition made it difficult for him to concentrate. Finally, we didn't play well in either attack or defense. We need to work seriously on our mistakes to perform well in the main stage".
