The "Absheron Lions" team wants to win in European tournaments. Sport24.az reports that this was stated by Erhan Toker, the head coach of the "Absheron Lions" basketball club, in his statement to the club's press service.
The experienced specialist shared his thoughts on the FIBA Europe Cup main stage game where they lost to "Neftchi":
"We couldn't play as well as we thought. Some players' performance was not at the desired level. Aubrey McCallop was injured. He played, but did not give the desired effect. Gediminas Orelik was also not effective. We didn't play well in defense against the opponent we knew from the beginning. "Neftchi"'s shots were very good. It became difficult for us to reach them. After this, we will try to win in our matches in Europe. We will not turn away from our path. We represent Azerbaijan and we really want to win in such a tournament."
It should be noted that the match "Absheron Lions" - "Neftchi" ended with the victory of the latter with a score of 104:86.
