Ergin Ataman, the head coach of the Turkish national basketball team, shared his thoughts on his team's victory (94:68) against the Greek national team in the semi-finals of the 2025 European Basketball Championship.
Idman biz reports that Ataman spoke about the Greeks' 30-year-old leader, NBA champion Giannis Antetokounmpo.
"We beat a great team. The Greek team has an excellent roster. Now my only plan is to rest well and prepare for the game against Germany. Greece is a fantastic team, but we played very well against them.
We played aggressively in defense against Antetokounmpo - we interfered with his ball dribbling and created traps. Osmani was playing dynamically. Yannis couldn't find space because this isn't the NBA: if you prepare well, you can stop him. I don't know if NBA teams will come to sign Osmani, because he was the one who managed to stop Antetokounmpo."
