The "Lakers" star is launching a new project in Europe.
İdman.biz reports that "Los Angeles Lakers" 40-year-old player LeBron James, together with his business partner Maverick Carter, is forming an investor group to create a new basketball league on the European continent.
According to journalist Brian Windhorst, the project will differ from the traditional US format and will be adapted to the European style. According to him, James and Carter see this league as a serious competitor to the NBA.
The fact that the games of the new league will be held in Europe and the rate of basketball development in Azerbaijan in recent years suggests that this initiative may also affect our country. If the Azerbaijani side shows interest, LeBron James' visit to Baku is not excluded. He will be interested in promoting his project in various European cities.
It should be noted that for the first time this season, Azerbaijani basketball is represented by three clubs in European Cups: "Sabah" in the FIBA Champions League, and "Neftchi" and "Absheron Lions" in the FIBA European Cup.
