The development of basketball in Azerbaijan is obvious.
"Report" reports that this was stated by Chingiz Huseynzade, Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), at an event dedicated to the results of the year of the Azerbaijan Basketball League.
He spoke about the activities of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation:
"The development of basketball in Azerbaijan is obvious. As an example, we can point to the successful performance of the Azerbaijani women's 3X3 team at the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games. In addition, our clubs are already making their mark in European Cups. Yesterday, Abşeron Lions' victory in the first match of the first qualifying round of the European Cup in Baku against the Cypriot representative Anorthosis pleased everyone."
