The head coach of "Sheki", Bedri Meriç, commented on his team's game against "Ganja" in the fifth round of the Azerbaijan Basketball League.
According to Idman.Biz, the match ended with a score of 84:70 in favor of "Sheki".
"We played against "Ganja" seven times last season, so these games are always special. Well-organized games are held with the same coaching staff. We won thanks to solid defense and aggressive offense," Meriç said.
The coach emphasized that the team overcame significant difficulties:
"It was a difficult week. We had problems with the training room again. Malek Davis was injured, but asked to play against his former team. Devon Jenkins had difficulty with form and could only help in the second half. We have come a long way to Ganja and this victory is especially important for us."
Meriç is confident that his team can surprise us this season:
"The team spirit is back. Some may consider Sheki the weakest team in Group A, but we will make some surprises. Especially in home games. I thank the children for their character and dedication."
