These words were said by Amil Hamzayev, a basketball player of the Azerbaijani national team, while talking about their first match against North Macedonia in the qualifying round of the 2029 European Championship.
The experienced player stated that there were no losses in the team: "Everyone participated in the last training session. North Macedonia is considered the favorite of the group. They are a more experienced team than us. They have good basketball players in their squad. But we will go out on the field to win. We want to win this match and prepare for the next matches in high spirits," he said in a statement to AZERTAC.
The basketball player, who currently plays for the "Neftchi" club, said that Luxembourg and Ireland, their other rivals in the group, are suitable teams for them: "It will be easier to get points from these teams compared to North Macedonia."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team will play its first match in the qualifying round against North Macedonia on November 27, and its second match 3 days later in Baku against Luxembourg.
