Azerbaijan's U-16 and U-18 women's national basketball teams have completed their training camp in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.
According to "Report", our teams tested their strength with local clubs during the preparation process.
During the camp, the U-18 national team held 6 friendly matches, while the U-16 team held 7.
Head coach Evren Alkaya highly appreciated the preparation stage. He stated that games against strong opponents playing in the Turkish leagues were a great experience for the basketball players. According to the coach, the U-18 team demonstrated a stable game, while the U-16 team, competing with a younger squad, gained important practice for the upcoming tournaments.
It should be noted that these preparations are in preparation for the FIBA youth tournaments to be held in the summer. At the same time, our main women's national team will play important matches in March as part of the qualifying rounds for the 2026 World Cup and EuroBasket-2027. After away matches with Bulgaria and Montenegro, the team will host the Ukrainian national team on March 17 at 19:00 at the Baku Sports Palace.
