Azerbaijani basketball has suffered a heavy loss.
"Report" reports that Vagif Hajimammadov, a former member of our national team and a USSR master of sports, who lived in Stavropol, Russia for many years, has passed away.
He passed away at the age of 62 after a long and serious illness.
V. Hajimammadov was invited to the USSR basketball team in 1982. He played in the USSR championship for the team of the Azerbaijan Oil and Chemistry Institute. Later, he fought for the success of the Dynamo (Stavropol) club in the Russian championship.
After completing his professional basketball career, he became a coach.
