Amil Hamzayev, a member of the Azerbaijan national 3x3 basketball team, has revealed the reasons for the unsuccessful performance in the qualifying round of the World Championship held in Baku.
The player gave a statement to "Report" about this.
He stated that they were in a difficult group:
"We ended up in a difficult group. This was due to the rating. Two teams from our group qualified for the next round. It was the first competition in this category for Nazar Guliyev and Kamran Mammadov. It's a little difficult to adapt to this after normal basketball. We saw this in the example of our women's national team as well. We will prepare for the qualifying round of the European Championship. We will go to Serbia for training camp. I hope that the next competition will be different."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan national team, consisting of Orkhan Aydin, Amil Hamzayev, Nazar Guliyev and Kamran Mammadov, lost to the Canadian (7:12) and Great Britain (12:21) teams in Group B and remained outside the playoffs.
