In the XVI round of the Azerbaijan Basketball League, Erhan Toker, the head coach of "Absheron Lions", who faced "Shaki", also gave preference to local players. Sport24.az reports that the specialist said this in a statement to the club's press service after the match.
The Turkish coach emphasized that the game was tense:
"We gave our main player James Frazier a rest. Our other basketball players participated in this meeting and fought well. I also apply these words to the opponent. A large part of the game was in a head-to-head fight. Today we also gave preference to local players, and at the same time, two Azerbaijani basketball players were on the court. This can also be related to the cup matches ahead of us. Finally, I congratulate the team members for returning from the Shaki trip with a victory, and I am grateful to the opponent for the beautiful game."
It should be noted that the "Shaki" - "Absheron Lions" match ended with a 92:85 victory for the guests.
