Possible relations between the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation (ABF) and the Turkish club "Nəsibə Aydın" are important for the development of women's basketball in Azerbaijan.
Farrukh Mahmudov, Executive Vice President of ABF, said this in an interview with "Report".
He emphasized that the meeting went very well:
"First of all, let me note that our meeting with the president of the brotherly Turkish representative "Nəsibə Aydın" club and other club representatives went very well. Turkey's successful experience in women's basketball is a valuable example for us. Possible relations that can be established with the "Nəsibə Aydın" club in the future are important for the development of women's basketball in Azerbaijan."
The Executive Vice President said that the goals were conveyed to the other party:
"During the meeting, we told the other party that we aim to provide our women basketball players of different age groups with international game experience and higher training opportunities. By evaluating the proposals reciprocally, we want to increase the competitive strength of women's basketball at the regional level. Exchange of experience, training programs and international tournaments are very important for our girls, and we consider all initiatives in this area as real plans for the future."
It should be noted that a meeting was held in Baku between ABF President Emin Amrullayev and officials of the organization, and Mirkan Aydın, president of "Nəsibə Aydın", one of the well-known women's basketball clubs of Turkey, and representatives of this club.
