11 Players Disqualified from U16 African Championship for Age Violation

11 athletes have been removed from the FIBA U16 African Championship.

Idman.biz reports that an investigation revealed that participants from Mali, Liberia, and Guinea exceeded the age limit.

Mali's youth team will now compete with seven players, while Liberia will compete with eight.

U16 Afrobasket is held under the patronage of "FIBA Africa" and is a qualifying stage for the 2025 U17 World Championship. U16 Afrobasket will be held in Kigali, Rwanda from September 2 to 14, 2025.
