Kenan Heybatov, competing in the 70 kg weight category, advanced to the 1/4 finals by defeating Canadian Cole Coqhill with a complete advantage (10:0).
In the 1/4 finals, Heybatov defeated Armenian Davit Margaryan with a "fall" and advanced to the semifinals.
