"Our game against the Azerbaijan team will be a clash of different styles."
Idman.biz reports that these words were said by Gido Vermeylen, the head coach of the Swedish men's national volleyball team, on the eve of the start of the European Silver League.
In the first game, which will be held on June 6 in Umeo, Sweden, within the framework of the competition, the hosts will face the team coached by Farid Jalalov. Vermeylen stated that he is looking forward to the fight between different volleyball schools: "The playing style of the Azerbaijan team is different from ours. While we play high and powerful, the opponent shows fast volleyball and strong defense. But we will try to prove that we are better at home."
He also noted that they have less information about the other opponent in the group, the Georgian national team: "We have little information about Georgia, but we are looking forward to their game against the Azerbaijan team on Saturday."
Vermeylen also assessed the current state of his team: "The preparation is going according to plan. The players have individually increased their form during the club season and have completed their 'homework'. We are developing as a team and taking steps towards progress," said the coach of the Swedish national team.
