Kaori Sakamoto to end her career in 2026 and start coaching

Japanese figure skater, three-time world champion, and Winter Olympics medalist Kaori Sakamoto will end her career in 2026.

"Report," citing "Nikkan Sports," reports that the athlete plans to start coaching.

The 26-year-old figure skater won the world champion title in 2022, 2023, and 2024. She completed the 2025 World Championship with a silver medal. Sakamoto was also a bronze medalist in the individual competition and a silver medalist in the team competition at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

It should be noted that the XXV Winter Olympic Games will be held in Italy from February 6 to 22, 2026.
