Azerbaijani judoka Ushangi Kokauri continues his successful performance at the "Grand Slam" tournament held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, and reached the final.
Idman.Biz reports that U.Kokauri, who competes in the +100 kg weight category, started the competition with a victory over the representative of Kazakhstan, Jantilek Nurtilepulu.
Then he defeated German athlete Erik Abramov in the 1/4 finals.
In the semi-finals, the Azerbaijani judoka defeated the French representative Tieman Diaby and qualified for the final.
In the match for the gold medal, U.Kokauri will face Russian judoka Inal Tasoyev.
Aslan Kotsoyev, who competes in the 90 kg weight category, won two victories in the tournament and reached the 1/4 finals, but lost to Dutch athlete Frank de Vit in this stage. In the consolation match, he lost to the representative of Moldova, Mikhail Latyshev, and finished the tournament.
